uTorrent Falcon Remote Controls Your BitTorrent Downloads from Any Browser
Windows: The popular BitTorrent client uTorrent released a beta build of uTorrent Web Beta, a no-configuration tool that allows you to remotely access and control uTorrent from any web browser.
uTorrent has been releasing lots of cool betas lately, the newest of which gets you up and running with a web-based interface in two steps.
After downloading the beta, all you need to do is head into uTorrent’s remote access preferences by hitting the Remote access preferences button in the toolbar (to the very right of the other buttons).
Once you’re in the remote access preferences, check the “Enable Remote Access” checkbox and enter any username and password you desire. Hit apply and confirm that you want to create a new account. From that point forward, you can access your downloads from any computer by going to http://falcon.utorrent.com and entering your login information (provided your home computer is powered up and uTorrent is running).
The new beta also comes with the long-awaited media streaming feature, which allows you to download some of the file’s pieces in chronological order and stream content before the entire file has finished downloading.
The uTorrent beta is a free download for Windows only (although the web UI can be accessed from any operating system).
