unlock your Huawei E220
If you are using Vodafone Huawei E220 modem and if it’s unlocked to a particular network. No worries here is the solution for it. This is the steps that i did to unlock my modem.
follow these steps and you can unlock your Huawei E220 with less than 10 minutes.
You need some software for this process. don’t worry, you can download all the software you need to unlock for free.
SOFTWARES
1. huawei E220 firmware update.
download it here or google it.
2. QMAT – QC Mobile Analysis Tool.

3. A HEX editor

PROCESS
STEP 1
* Run “huawei E220 firmware update” make sure your ‘mobile partner’ is not running and modem has connected to the computer. This is only to detect the modem. don’t run the update. just cancel the wizard.
STEP 2
* Run ‘QMAT – QC Mobile Analysis Tool’ Click on ‘hardware forensics’ menu and choose ‘Use Com/Usb port’.
STEP 3
* Select ‘COM – HUAWEI Connect – 3G PC UI Interface (COM)’ from the serial com port like shown in the image. then click on ’Send Cmd’ Button. A message will appear below as ‘Successfully send command’.
STEP 4
* If you don’t get message try again the process. look at the com port number in update wizard and QMAT.
STEP 5
* Now in the COM functions box choose ‘Read EFS’ from the drop down list. Then click on ‘Let’s go’. Give a file name to save. Now process will continue for several minutes. Don’t worry even though QMAT has 10 minutes trial, it is enough to save our file.
STEP 6
* After completion of the process, Run ‘Freeware Hex Editor XVI32’ open the saved file. then you can find lots of hexa decimal numbers!!!
STEP 7
* Click on search
STEP 8
* find 53642c00on left hand side panel.
STEP 9
* you will find 53 and some letter or number has highlighted. look on next panel near that 53 for a about 8 digit number. write it on something. THAT IS YOUR UNLOCK CODE!
STEP 10
* Now run ‘E220 Simlock Unlocking tool’ enter the unlock code. Enjoy!!! You did it.
STEP 11
* Now try with a another sim. make sure you have made a new profile in the option menu.
